Acupuncture Appointments
Acupuncture is a main component of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The ancient Chinese developed this unique medical system through careful and diligent study of the body, mind, emotions and the natural world around them. This methodology is based on the idea that pathways of energy, or ‘qi’, run in systematized patterns throughout the body. These pathways or ‘meridians’ circulate energy and nourish the tissues. Obstructions in the movement of this energy can result in a variety of potential imbalances and, if untreated, eventually pathology and disease.
Acupuncture can help with a variety of conditions including, but not limited to, musculoskeletal pain, stress/anxiety, migraines, digestive issues, immune system, fertility and more. In addition to the practice of acupuncture, infrared heat, herbal formulas, nutrition and lifestyle recommendations in their treatments.
All new patient acupuncture appointments include a 45-60 minute comprehensive, holistic health intake and a 30-40 minute acupuncture treatment. During this in-depth appointment, we will review your full health history, medical records and lab tests. Based on your individual needs, you will receive a treatment plan with lifestyle, supplement, and nutritional recommendations.
CIGNA - Acupuncture Appointments
As a Cigna in-network Provider, rendered treatments must follow the contracted guidelines.
Generally, covered conditions include musculoskeletal conditions and pain syndromes:
Musculoskeletal Pain Syndrome defined: Conditions with associated musculoskeletal signs and symptoms related to a sensation of hurting or strong discomfort caused by an injury, illness, disease, functional disorder, or condition. Musculoskeletal Pain disorders are typically categorized as structural, degenerative or inflammatory disorders, or biomechanical dysfunction of the joints of the body and/or related components of the neuromusculoskeletal system (muscles, tendons, fascia, nerves, ligaments/capsules, discs, and synovial structures) and related neurological manifestations or conditions.
Also includes pain disorders such as headaches, migraines, and gastro-intestinal conditions. However, exact covered conditions will depend on your specific policy and plan.
Cupping or Body Gua Sha Therapy
Cupping Therapy is a modern, evidence-informed adaptation of Traditional Chinese Medicine cupping. This technique is used therapeutically to target fascia, trigger points, and muscular adhesions—making it ideal for pain relief, athletic recovery, and improved mobility. We incorporate both glass fire cupping and plastic suction cups. Depending on body location, will use stationary and gliding cupping methods.
This decompressive effect allows tissue layers to glide more freely, accelerates healing, and relieves deep tension.
Body gua sha is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that uses a smooth-edged tool (like a stone, ceramic spoon, or specially designed instrument) to scrape the skin, typically on the body, to improve circulation, relieve muscle tension, and promote lymphatic drainage. It's a form of restorative massage that can help with sore muscles, inflammation, and overall tension release
Cosmetic Acupuncture, Facial Cupping and Gua Sha
This procedure is for anyone who is concerned about the effects of the aging process on the skin. Collagen production starts to deteriorate from the age of 26 and skin is often first to show the sign of aging. Using needles we can retrain muscles to tighten. Ultra-fine needles placed on systemic points activate muscles in the face and neck to lift, improve tone and increase circulation of the blood and lymph. This helps define jaw line, clear complexion, reduce redness and gives a youthful flow. Needles are inserted into frown lines and wrinkles, causing a micro-trauma that stimulate the body to produce collagen to gently fill out the lines. Noticeable results can appear after the first session but for a lasting prolonged effect, a series of 6-10 sessions is recommended.
An acupuncture facial involves the patient in an organic, gradual process, which is customized for each individual. It is no way analogous to, or a substitute for, a surgical “face lift”. A treatment session may confine itself solely to facial acupuncture, or it may be used in conjunction with other procedures.
Each session incorporates Facial Needling, Facial Cupping, Facial Gua Sha as well as body Acupuncture.
Each session is 75 minutes long.
Microneedling
Microneedling stimulates the body to produce collagen and improves product absorption, which in turns offers skin rejuvenation, improvement of scars and wrinkles. The Microneedling treatment allows for controlled induction of growth factor serums, or hyaluronic acid, into the skins self-repair process by creating micro injuries in the skin. These injuries stimulate new collagen production, while not posing the risk of permanent scaring. The result is smoother, firmer and younger looking skin.
Treatment includes microneedling on the face and neck paired with a Chinese Herbal facial Serum, LED light and full-body acupuncture.
